Upgrade Class
This introductory class provides hands-on training in shop inputting using Autodesk CAMduct. Participants will learn the basic workflow for entering HVAC ductwork and fittings into CAMduct and preparing fabrication information for shop production.
The class is designed for sheet metal workers, shop personnel, forepersons, and apprentices who want to develop practical skills for converting plans, sketches, and field information into fabrication-ready ductwork.
Topics include:
- Navigating the CAMduct interface
- Understanding the JATC/shop fabrication database
- Selecting ductwork and fittings
- Entering dimensions and fitting specifications
- Straight duct and fitting input
- Seams, connectors, gauges, and fabrication specifications
- Building a basic duct run from plans or a shop sketch
- Reviewing entered items for accuracy
- Preparing completed work for fabrication and production
Course Goal: By the end of the class, participants should understand the basic CAMduct shop-inputting workflow and be able to enter common ductwork and fittings accurately for fabrication.
No previous CAMduct experience is required.
